#CES2019 Why the Consumer Electronics Show really matters?

Las Vegas plays host to the future in all things Technology

For more than five decades, everyone who’s anyone in the Consumer Technology world have gone to CES. The first Consumer Electronics Show was held in June 1967 in New York City. Fifty plus years, technology has dramatically changed and so have the location and the people attending. As the multitude of gadgets and disruptive technology arrive at the largest technological show on the planet in Las Vegas, here are a few interesting things to note:

2019 CES BY THE NUMBERS
  • 182,00+ attendants
  • 4,400+ exhibiting companies
  • Over 1000+ speakers

Huge expectations are hanging on the next generation of disruptive products and services. New Gizmo will once again be attending CES. Here are a few mind blowing trends we expect to see

IOT extended to your Kitchen

Whether it be Gourmia, LG or Samsung. The connected home has truly extended into the kitchen. We have all heard about smart fridges, coffee machines and even machine intelligent ovens. This year these vendors have already indicated they intend to reveal at CES2019 the next phase in the development of the smart kitchen.

Smart Phones handsets going 5G and Origami

The 5G revolution is here with vendors such as Qualcomm introducing the latest Snapdragon 855 processor. The wave of 5G handsets are expected to roll out at CES. Who knows what vendors like LG, Lenovo, Google, Nokia and ZTE will introduce in Vegas.

Beyond 5G, futuristic bendable phones should be on display. The trend for phones beyond getting smaller is foldable and faster.

Autonomous extended beyond the automotive

An autonomous car is a vehicle that can guide itself without human conduction. Autonomous vehicles are still in the testing phase. The future of self-driving should be on display at CES with autonomous luggage, smart appliances and home robots.
