Have we become too dependant on Smart Mobile Technology?
I love to read about disruptive new Tech. One of my investigations took me to a project led by the French engineering school Telecom Paristech. Called the MobiLimb, this small 5 DoF serial robotic appendage can be easily added to (or removed from) existing mobile devices. It enables users to become more connected to their phones by taping their hands for notifications. Although the tech is somewhat interesting, it reaffirms my believe that society has become more dependant on their smart devices.

Research shows that a substantial majority, 96% of Americans or globally 1.2 Billion users own a smart phone. Whether it be for online shopping, ordering a coffee, or getting driving directions. Our smart devices (phones, wearables and tablets) have become more than just communication devices. Our smart technology also ensures the ability for us to stay in touch, no matter where we are. However, this smart device addiction comes with challenges. This can be affirmed by anyone who has lost or accidentally broken their phone or tablet.
