Mycestro lets your finger do the driving in 3D

Mycestro the 3D wearable mouse 3

Mycestro is a Small Lightweight, Portable, Wearable 3D mouse that is a perfect work companion even when your environment is not perfect.

The Mycestro functions simply by finger gesture controls. Unlike traditional mice, the user can control their computer without the requirement of a surface area. It works via Bluetooth between the Mycestro mouse and the keyboard in a distance up to 30 feet (9.1 meters) away.

One may ask, why would you ever need this device. Well several situations come to mind. Mycestro  would be a great accessory for commuters working on the train going to the office, or travelers sitting in the tight constraints of a plane or even for that salesman who wants to be able to control their presentation from across the room.

Mycestro works with Windows XP, Vista, 7, and 8, Mac OS, Apple OS X, and Linux operating systems (in addition to some Android devices). Operating this device is easy. Once you have unpacked (and charged) your Maestro, plug the dongle into your computer. You then touch the Thumbpad and wait for the green LED light to appear, indicating you have successfully paired dongle and device.

Mycestro the 3D wearable mouse 1The Thumbpad on Mycestro has three buttons: left, middle, and right which act exactly like the buttons on a traditional mouse. Moving the mouse requires you to place your thumb on one of the buttons. The other buttons perform like the left click and right click buttons.

For consumers there are a few things to note with the Mycestro:

  • Firstly as with most wearable technology a learning curve and practice is required in order to learn how to properly operate the Mycestro.
  • Secondly, unfortunately for our left handed friends, there is currently only a Right-Handed version of Mycestro.
  • Third of all, make sure you give your co-workers and fellow commuters the heads up when you are using Mycestro or they might become a little puzzled as to why you are waving your finger at them.

Charging the Mycestro is done via a USB cable. On a full charge the battery life lasts up to 8 continuous hours of use.

Mycestro the 3D wearable mouse 2Bottom line, Mycestro is a very cool, but very practical, compact wearable 3D mouse.
