TP-Link is no stranger to Smart Home Connected devices. Its most recent addition may be its most niche networking accessory yet. The TP-Link AC2300 Wireless MU-MIMO Gigabit Router target’s consumers who are looking for enhance their home connected wired and wireless devices simultaneously.
The AC2300 Wireless Gigabit Router comes in a stylish two-tone gloss black and matted black case encircled in a grey trimmed finish topped up with 3 external, detachable antennas at the rear of the router. The router comes built with 4x (10/100/1000M) Gigabit Ethernet ports, a single WAN (10/100/1000M) Internet port, 1 USB 3.0 and 1 USB 2.0 port and is powered by a 1.8GHz dual-core processor.
TP-Link has added Range Boost NitroQAM Technology which ensures that you can stream your favorite show without being impacted by your teenage son playing with his games online with his friends (of course this assumes you have a big enough internet pipe from your ISP). The AC2300 leverages the 802.11ac Wave 2, MU-MIMO (Multi-User, Multiple Input, Multiple Output) technology. MU-MIMO is changing the way wireless routers and devices communicate. In addition to making your home network operate faster, MU-MIMO allows the AC2300 to communicate with multiple devices simultaneously. TP-Link has also embedded Smart Connect into the AC2300 which optimally places each network device on the best available Wi-Fi band.
Installation of the AC2300 is easy. After unpacking the router and installing the antennas, connect an ethernet cable to the router’s internet port and turn on the router. Download the TP-Link Tether app from the Google or Apple store. Look for the SSID (indicated at the bottom of the router with the password) and connect to the router. Setup of and configuration is done with the TP-Link Tether app or via web based browser. The online setup procedure walks the user through the Internet and Wireless settings and tests the internet connection. The entire process takes less than five minutes. With the Tether app you can also so who has access to your network. Tether also allows yous to prioritize (and reprioritize) devices, enable parental controls, network access times and modify url based white list.
