Will you give up on your fitness wearables?

Wearables are mainstream technology.  About 12% of all Americans own a fitness band or sports watch. The overall wearables industry is expected to almost double from 113.2 million shipments in 2017 to 222.3 million shipments in 2021. However despite the hype, research also indicates that  the effectiveness of fitness wearables  is limited with one third stop using them within six months, and more than half eventually abandon them altogether.

Finnish fitness extraordinaire Polar is looking to disrupt the wearables market with the next generation of  GPS  watches that aspire to change the health and fitness levels of consumers. The Polar Vantage V and Polar Vantage M are two state-of-the-art multi sport watches that are targeted to athletes, coaches and everyday fitness enthusiasts.

The Polar Vantage M is available in White, Black and Red

Hoping to help athletes push themselves to the next level with smart coaching, the Polar Vantage M can be customized for over 130 sports profiles. The Polar Vantage M shows you how your training sessions strains your body and affects your performance. Training Load Pro monitors the strain your training puts on your cardiovascular system (Cardio Load), and also takes into account how strained you feel (Subjective Load). If you’re using a separate running or cycling power meter, you will also get a training load value for your musculoskeletal system (Muscle Load).

Additionally the Polar Vantage M provides the end user with performance features including: Running Index performance score, Personalized Running programs, Sleep feedback, Daily activity and calorie burn and Swim metrics. The Vantage M provides the athlete with up to 30 h battery life.

The Polar Vantage V is available in White, Black and Orange

The Polar Vantage V incorporates the new Precision Prime heart rate technology leveraging optical sensors to extract data from different layers of your skin. The Polar Vantage V has numerous same features as the Vantage M. Both watches have built-in GPS units, heart rate sensors, and always-on color displays. They’re also both water resistant to 30 meters. The Vantage V provides the ability for the end user to access running power data right on the wrist. The battery life on this sports-watch is better at up to 40 h.

For fitness enthusiasts looking to take advantage of the latest technology to help accelerate their training, both Vantage V and Vantage M watches are available for preorder.
