Teleport into the Future of NAS with Ugreen

If someone asked me a few years ago, do you need a NAS for your home ? I would have paused in my answer.

However, my response today without a doubt would be that a NAS is an essential tool for home computing. Network-attached storage, or NAS, is a  connected device that allows storage and retrieval of data from a centralized location. In short a NAS is your own personal cloud. It’s faster, less expensive and provides all the benefits of a public cloud on site, giving you complete control.

However, a NAS is much more than storage. With a NAS, you can stream media to smart devices such as TV, game consoles. You can run apps such as WordPress or BitTorrent from a NAS.

Seamless NAS

There are many Network-attached storage (NAS) providers available in the market, each with its own unique features and capabilities. In addition to this, there are three main factors to consider in deciding which NAS device to get.  And that would be brand, number of HDD slots or disk bays, and personal use and needs. With AI becoming more prominent with our daily lives, Ugreen and Intel are collaborating on more easy-to-use features, making daily work and life more convenient.

Ugreen,  best known for its charging solutions and accessories, has announced a new partnership with Intel to bring its next-generation network attached storage devices to the U.S. market later this year. Called the NASync Network Attached Storage series, the series includes six different models with 2-bay, 4-bay, 6-bay, 8-bay, and all-flash configurations. The drives are equipped with two M.2 NVMe slots, which can be used for super-fast storage or cache space. The series uses a mix of different processors: the two-bay and four-bay models use a 12th generation Intel N series CPU, the four-bay DXP4800 Plus has a 12th gen Intel Pentium Gold, and the rest have 12th gen Intel Core i5 chips.

AI and NAS: A Tech match made for Consumers

However, what distinguishes there NAS appliances goes well beyond the hardware.

With technology shifting more and more towards AI integration and related capabilities, we made the conscious decision to collaborate with a well-known, experienced institution to integrate these functions into our upcoming products,” states Ugreen general manager Evan Li. “We hope to introduce more customers to mere fractions of smart AI capabilities with the release of our new NASync devices.”

The Ugreen NAS software is an all-in-one app with the ability to stream movies, access photos, and transfer files from any device. Ugreen says its devices have “reliable local space and robust transmission and account encryption protocols to safeguard your sensitive information”. Ugreen also indicated that support for Docker is planned.
