Taking your Gaming on a Nostalgic Journey with the Retro Watch

Retro Games have become popular with mainstream game players. This is due to the nostalgia they carry with them.

Whereas modern technology has transformed our video games with high resolution graphics. Classic or Retro video games can be described as 8-bit and 16-bit old-school games displayed on pixel art and 8-bit gaming soundtracks. A popular video site recently ranked classic video games from the 1960s through the year 2000 and the popular games among them included Pac-Man, Donkey Kong, Super Mario, Legend of Zelda and Sonic.

However, for those of us who want to jump on this nostalgic journey, the easiest way to enjoy these classic games is to purchase or build an emulator that can mimic the hardware of classic consoles, allowing you to play old games on your modern PC. Another option is to scope the online boards for a retro game console.

However, there is a simpler alternative. The Retro Watch is a powerful, gaming system encased in a cool looking watch. This device is powered by an Arm Cortex M33 processor running at up to 160MHZ and two low power cores. While this watch will certainly have the power to emulate most 8 and 16 bit era systems, its meant to run custom games.

Retro Watch is currently seeking backers on Indiegogo and is expected to ship out December of 2024.  And as you can see on their Indiegogo campaign, they have successfully played the traditional Donkey Kong and even more complex games like Doom.
