Meet the M3 MacBook Air: What’s new and improved?

Apple unveiled today the new MacBook Air models. Available in two distinct models.  Consumers have the option in two screen sizes for the M3 chip model, 13-inch and 15-inch. While the M2 chip model is available on the 13-inch only. You may ask, what’s new with the air?

Let’s start with what first hits your eyes. The MacBook Air is available in four colours (Midnight (black), Starlight (cream), Space Gray and Silver).

However, there is more to the Air than what you may see. Apple has announced significant performance enhancements with its latest MacBook Air model, boasting up to a 60 percent speed boost compared to the previous M1 version. The company is also claiming that the chipset is 13 times faster than the swiftest Intel-based MacBook Air.

Apple has also indicated that this laptop is a great fit for AI-based tasks. The air has an AV1 decode engine, which promises enhanced video quality and efficiency for streaming services.

Apple says that a broad ecosystem of apps offers advanced AI features, and it has some examples. It says that “users can do everything from checking their homework with AI Math Assistance in Goodnotes 6, to automatically enhancing photos in Pixelmator Pro, to removing background noise from a video using CapCut.

The enhancements are not only in the cpu. The MacBook Air also boasts up to 18 hours of battery life for Apple TV app movie playback and up to 15 hours for wireless web usage. Additionally, Users can now connect up to two external displays simultaneously with the laptop lid is closed

The Air is built upon 50 percent recycled materials but still maintains its stealth of under a half an inch thickness.
