According to the CDC, about 1.1 million people are treated for burn injuries every year, and of those, 38-58% are due to hot liquids or steam. Coffee accounts for about 15% of all nonfatal scald injuries suffered by persons aged 65 and over
I am sure that many, like myself have wished for a device to cool my coffee down quickly. Well, it seems that there is a cool tech that can grant this wish.
Love this Cool Cat by Nékojita FuFu
Enter Nékojita FuFu, a delightful and portable robot created by Yukai Engineering. This small gadget, which can fit right in your hand, is designed to cool down hot food and drinks.
The name “Nékojita” translates to “cat tongue” in Japanese, a nod to those with a low tolerance for hot food. Shaped like an adorable cat, the robot uses an internal fan to blow cool air onto your beverages or meals, imitating human breath through its “Fu-ing System” algorithm.
Nékojita FuFu can be easily attached to any dishware with a straight edge, offering various blowing modes. The robot offers three distinct blowing modes:
- I’ve Got This!: A strong initial burst followed by sustained power.
- Not Gonna Spill: Consistent medium blows with short deep breaths in between.
- The Princess: Gradual, slow, and steady increases in strength.
Don’t be fooled by the size of this feline. Small but mighty, It can cool hot water from 88°C (190°F) to 71°C (160°F) in just three minutes and further down to 66°C (151°F) in five minutes.
Powered by a rechargeable battery, the Nékojita FuFu is perfect (or should I say Purr-fect) for on-the-go use. This innovative gadget is set to be released in Japan in mid-2025 following a crowdfunding campaign.
