Web Summit Vancouver 2025 – ALPHA Startup Interview Series
Each year, Web Summit’s ALPHA program showcases the most promising early-stage startups from around the globe — and this year, Copilot AI emerged as a standout. Based in Vancouver, this SaaS company is transforming how B2B sales teams connect, engage, and convert leads on LinkedIn.
In a conversation with Damian Chen, Mojan “Mo” Butler, VP of Partnerships at Copilot AI, shared how the platform is helping sales professionals ditch the grind of manual outreach and focus on what really drives results: meaningful conversations.
Tackling the LinkedIn Prospecting Problem
Copilot AI is purpose-built for high-value, relationship-driven sales — think SaaS, financial services, and digital agencies. The challenge? LinkedIn outreach is often tedious, repetitive, and ineffective.
“Our users are business developers,” said Butler. “We integrate with their LinkedIn accounts, use Sales Navigator to build precise audiences, and automate outreach and follow-ups — so reps can spend more time in meetings, not in their inbox.”
Beyond Automation: Smarter, More Human Outreach
While automation is at the core, Copilot AI’s real strength lies in intelligent targeting and timing.
“The key is cutting through the noise,” Butler explained. “We help users get specific enough that their messages feel personal — because they are. It’s not about blasting messages; it’s about starting real conversations.”
Once a prospect responds, automation halts, and the human takes over — ensuring authenticity is never lost.
AI That Understands Context
What sets Copilot AI apart is its rapid integration of generative AI. The platform now drafts follow-ups, analyzes conversation history, and even evaluates psychographic cues to recommend — or automate — the next best move.
“We’re already at the point where one click gets you a ready-to-send message,” said Butler. “Soon, the system will suggest — or even execute — the next step automatically.”
And it’s not just about what you say — it’s when you say it. “Engage someone while they’re online, and your conversion rate jumps. Timing is everything.”
Scaling Globally, Partnering Strategically
Copilot AI has already served thousands of customers across North America and is now expanding into Australia and Asia. They’ve also white-labeled their platform for partners — some of whom are now competitors.
“Partnerships are a huge part of our growth,” Butler noted. “We’re not just selling software — we’re building ecosystems.”
From Outreach to Full-Funnel Optimization
While Copilot AI currently focuses on top-of-funnel engagement, the roadmap is much broader. “We want to help teams manage the entire sales pipeline — surfacing high-value activities and preventing missed opportunities,” said Butler.
Upcoming integrations with CRMs like HubSpot will allow sales teams to prioritize leads and optimize follow-ups in real time.
Empowering Human Connection
At its heart, Copilot AI isn’t about replacing people — it’s about amplifying them.
“Sales is about conversations,” Butler emphasized. “We’re here to take the busywork off your plate so you can focus on what really matters — building relationships and closing deals.”
