Take a sad cyber password and make IoT better @Tokenize

As connected consumers we constantly face the fear of our identity, passwords and digital keys being hacked. With the increased connected nature of our lives comes the ill felt consequences of digital identity theft. The potential benefit from data theft is unmeasurable.  Consumer loss ranges from access your social security numbers, birthdays, and driver’s license numbers and passwords to losing your money and credibility. Last year Equinox revealed that a massive data breach resulted in personal information being stolen for over 143 million Americans.

Our friends at Token Inc. have developed a high tech way to help secure your personal information that is literally available at your finger tip. Made of Argentinium Sterling Silver and available in three fashionable finishes, the Token wearable ring is a biometric device that enables you to access your cards, login to your PC or Mac, access your car or office without needing to remember a long password that may change every 45 days.  WithToken you simply put on the ring and you are ready to log in.

The Token wearable utilizes two factor (2FA) authentication with a mixture of a biometric finger reader and the physical device. The finger-metric information is authenticated and stored locally on the device. If you lose the device, don’t worry as it wont log into your devices without a biometric match.  The ring can also be physically reset if you give it to someone else. There is a Fingerprint Sensor on the inside of the ring that scans your finger as you put it on to unlock it.  While you are wearing it, every transaction is two factor authenticated since it proves possession of the device along with the biometric second factor. When you remove the ring, the IR Diode and Optical Sensor detect this and turns off the ability to perform any transaction.

The Token wearable works on a simple idea of sending NFC payments from the secure element to the payment terminal. This concept is very similar to what it utilized by Android or Apple Pay. Credentials are stored on an (EAL5+ / EMVCO / HID) certified Secure Element, just like the chip in your credit card.

So don’t give into fear of what is on the internet.  Give in to change and use the Token wearable ring to keep your passwords safe and (more) secure.
