The Robot We Imagined for 60 Years Is Finally Real with Figure 03

Figure03

For more than half a century, humans have imagined a future where a tireless, intelligent robot quietly takes care of everyday life—until now, that future has lived almost entirely in fiction.

Rosie is the iconic, dutiful robot maid from the 1960s cartoon The Jetsons. With her blue metal body, apron, and roller wheels, she handled every household chore for the Jetson family. Rosie became a cultural archetype for home automation and AI helper robots. Sje represents the ultimate, yet long‑unachieved, vision of a truly capable humanoid domestic assistant.

Though fictional, Rosie embodied what humans wanted home automation to be: intelligent, helpful, and seamlessly integrated into everyday life. For decades, this remained a dream, until very recently.

A Long‑Standing Vision Becomes Real

In October 2025, robotics innovator Figure introduced Figure 03, its third‑generation humanoid robot, designed to make that long‑imagined future tangible. Built to bring general‑purpose robotics into daily life, Figure 03 marks a decisive step beyond novelty and toward real utility.

Figure 03 is designed for Helix, the home, and the world at scale. Its ambition is clear: to deliver a truly general‑purpose robot. One that can perform human‑like tasks and learn directly from people. To realize this goal, Figure’s engineering and design teams completed a ground‑up redesign of both hardware and software, creating a platform ready not just to impress, but to ship.

From Prototype to Deployable Platform

Figure 03 represents an unprecedented advancement in the evolution of humanoid robots. From experimental prototypes to deployable, scalable products. By uniting advanced perception, tactile intelligence, home‑safe design, and mass‑manufacturing readiness, Figure has created a platform capable of learning, adapting, and working across both domestic and commercial environments.

Next‑Generation Vision and Perception

At the core of Figure 03 is a next‑generation vision system engineered for high‑frequency visuomotor control. Its new camera architecture delivers:

  • Twice the frame rate
  • One‑quarter the latency
  • A 60% wider field of view per camera

All of this is achieved within a more compact form factor. Combined with an expanded depth of field, this system provides Helix with a denser and more stable perceptual stream. This is essential for intelligent navigation and precise manipulation in complex, cluttered environments such as homes.

Built for Real Homes and Real Life

After demonstrating meaningful progress in workforce settings, Figure is now moving into the home—an environment far more complex and unpredictable.  Figure 03 autonomously handles everyday household tasks like laundry, cleaning, and dishes. Engineered for real homes, not controlled labs, it navigates stairs, tight corners, and constantly changing layouts with ease.

Interaction is natural and intuitive. You engage with Figure as you would with another person:

  • Talk
  • Ask
  • Delegate

Figure listens, understands, and takes action.

Human‑Level Dexterity Through Touch

Each hand on Figure 03 integrates an embedded palm camera with a wide field of view and low‑latency sensing. These cameras provide redundant, close‑range visual feedback during grasping, allowing Helix to maintain awareness even when primary cameras are occluded. Such as when reaching into cabinets or working in confined spaces. This enables continuous, adaptive control in real time.

Beyond vision, Figure 03’s tactile system delivers exceptional precision. Each fingertip sensor can detect forces as small as three grams of pressure. Sensitive enough to register the weight of a paperclip. This allows Helix to distinguish between a secure grip and an impending slip before it happens, enabling fine‑grained, dexterous control over fragile, irregular, or moving objects.

Safety‑First Power and Reliability

Powering this capability is a battery system engineered with safety at its core. The Figure 03 battery incorporates multiple layers of protection against abuse or malfunction, including safeguards at the Battery Management System (BMS), cell, interconnect, and pack levels.

Designed for Helix, the home, and the world at scale, Figure 03 establishes the foundation for true general‑purpose robotics technology with the potential to fundamentally transform how people live and work.
